These are pictures shot at or near the World Trade Center Site in New York City. I work in the area and it has become very special to me.
I remember when I worked at 40 Rector St. in the late 70s. I would occasionally get a couple of hot dogs and a knish from a street vendor and eat my lunch on the observation deck of 2 World Trade Center. Then I’d take a nice walk on the roof. It only cost a couple of dollars to visit the observation deck then. It was around $20 when the buildings were attacked.
For those who wonder, yes, I was there on 9/11. Yes, I worked in Tower 2 on the 37th floor. No, I was not in the building at the time. And, yes, I did take pictures on 9/11. While I may post those pictures later in the year. These are pictures of happier times before the tragedy and of the rebirth afterwards.

This is a combination of three photos taken from a conference room overlooking the World Trade Center site. While I had several pictures looking at the construction site, I had very few just showing the buildings and the surrounding area. Unfortunately, taking pictures through double panes of glass softens the picture a bit. The biggest problem was reflections from ceiling lights behind me.
