9/11 Surviving Heroes Day

I hope you will pass this on…

Today is 9/12. While we dedicate 9/11 to remembering those who died in the terrorist attacks on 9/11/2001, I suggest we dedicate 9/12 as an appropriate time to remember the heroes who survived the attacks.

There were many, first responders and civilians alike, who risked their lives to save others on 9/11 and survived. They do not have a memorial nor have they asked for one. Many would even deny they are heroes.

So to those who risked their lives to help co-workers leave the buildings – Thank You. To the people who dug through a wall so those with them could get out of an elevator – Thank You. To the police officer who held his ground while he yelled for myself and others to “run and keep running” as Tower 2 fell – Thank You. To the radio stations in my area and elsewhere who had Radiothons to collect money for the Red Cross and other charities following 9/11 – Thank You.

And to everyone else who helped on 9/11 or gave comfort to those directly affected by the tragedy of 9/11 – Thank You all!
